Mr. Nestor Jardin has served as Chairman of the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde Board of Trustees since 2015. He is also Chairman of the Executive Committee and a member of the Search and Nominations Committee. Mr. Jardin is also an adviser for the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD).
A former president and artistic director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Mr. Jardin is recognized for the creation of the Philippine Cultural Education Plan and the success of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. He was the head of the Creative Team for APEC Philippines 2015 and in 2017, served as the consultant for cultural events for the Philippines’ hosting of the ASEAN Summit. Mr. Jardin also served as a member of the Board from 2008-2011.
Br. Dennis Magbanua FSC is the President of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. He is the former President of De La Salle Santiago Zobel, La Salle Academy Iligan and Saint Joseph School-La Salle in Bacolod. An avid user of technology, particularly the iOS and Mac OSX, Brother Dennis became an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2011.
Brother Dennis finished his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics at De La Salle University and his Master of Arts in Teaching in Youth Ministry at the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod City. He completed his PhD Major in Education Management at De La Salle University-Dasmarinas.
Mr. Mayo Jose B. Ongsingco joined the Benilde Board in 2013 and serves as Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. He also serves as an Adviser to the Board of Directors of First Metro Investment Corporation, Director of First Metro Asset Management Inc., and Independent Director of Keppel Philippines Holdings Inc., Mapfre-Insular Insurance Corporation, and Omnipay Inc.
He was the President of The Insular Life Assurance Company, Ltd. during 2004-2015. He was also Director and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of Union Bank of the Philippines and served as Director of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Asian Hospital Inc., Keppel Philippines Marine, Subic Shipyards & Engineering, Keppel Holdings and several Insular Life subsidiaries such as Insular Savings Bank, Insular Health Care and Insular Investment Corporation.
Br. Edmundo Fernandez FSC has been the Lasallian East Asia District Provincialate since 2011. He joined the DLS-CSB Board of Trustees in 2016 and also serves as a member of its Academics, Competitiveness and Rankings Committee. An artist who has had group shows in the University of the Philippines and a solo exhibit at Sining Kabalig, Br. Fernandez is also an Adviser of Benilde’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD).
Br. Fernandez was Benilde’s interim President from May 2006 to May 2007. He also served as the Provincial of De La Salle Brothers District of the Philippines from 2004 to 2011. He was also the Chairman of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2010.
Br. Michael Valenzuela FSC is the College Institutional Animator. He has been a member of the DLS-CSB Board since 2010. He also serves as a member of the Search and Nominations Committee.
He teaches Theology and Religious Education at DLS-CSB and De La Salle University and is the former Director of the Lasallian Animation and Formation Team (LAFT). He was the Chairman of Sidhay Foundation and the Co-Founder of Services in Human and Religious Experiences.
Br. Raymundo Suplido FSC is the President of De La Salle University-Manila. He joined the Benilde Board in 2011 and is a member of the Executive Committee and Audit Risk and Compliance Committee. He is also a clinical psychologist.
He served as the General Councillor of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and Brother Visitor of the Philippine District. He is the former President of the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod, Principal of De La Salle Grade School, Director of the La Salle Novitiate and Director of the Lasallian Animation and Formation team of the Philippine District. Brother Suplido also served as the Chairman of the DLS-CSB Board from 2013 to 2015.
Br. Victor Franco FSC is the President of La Salle Green Hills and La Salle Antipolo. He is the Treasurer of the DLS-CSB Board of Trustees, the Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee, Search and Nominations Committee and Retirement Board. He joined the DLS-CSB Board in 2007.
He was the Brother Visitor of the former Philippine District of the La Salle Christian Brothers. Brother Franco was the President and Chancellor of De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde from 2007 to 2013.
Dr. Lydia Echauz joined the Board of Trustees in 2018. She is also the chairman of the Academics, Competitiveness and Rankings Committee of the Board.
She is the Independent Director of Metro Pacific Investment Corp., D&L Industries, Inc. and Pilipinas Shell and Petroleum Corp. She was the president of the Far Eastern University from 2002 to 2012. She also served as the Dean of De La Salle University Graduate Studies in Business. She is the Director of PLDT Beneficial Trust Fund, Philstar Group, Business World Publishing Corp., Global Business Power Corp. and Fern Realty Corp.
Dr. Guillermina Gabor is the President of the International School for Sustainable Tourism and the Philippine Small and Medium Development Foundation. She joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and now serves as a member of the Academics, Competitiveness and Rankings Committee and the Retirement Board.
She is an Honorary Consul at the Republic of Maldives. She also serves as the President of the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) Travel. She is the founder, director, and chairman of Homestay Philippines, Inc. She is also the founder of the World Information Technology Services Alliance (WITSA) in Washington, D.C. Dr. Gabor serves as the Chair Emeritus of the International Women’s Forum, Chairwoman of Ecotoursim Society Philippines Foundation, Inc., and Philippines-Canada Business Council.
Ms. Victorina “Vicky” Amalingan-Sales has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2016, and is now a member of the Finance and Investment Committee and Retirement Board. She is also an Adviser of Benilde’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD).
She is the Chairman of the Board of the Vizcarra Pharmaceutical Inc., S.C. Vizcarra, Inc., Vizcarra Diagnostic Clinic and Amalingan Development Corporation. She is the President of the Arnold Jansen Foundation, Inc. and Founding Chairman of the Salus Infirmorum Foundation Inc.
Arch. Emmanuel “Manny” Miñana has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2013. He serves as a member of the Search and Nominations Committee, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, and the Campus Planning and Development Committee.
He is the head of his own design firm, Emmanuel A. Miñana and Associates, Architects (EAMA). Ar. Miñana also designed the Chapel & Memorial Cloister of the La Salle Christian Brothers in Lipa City, Batangas.
Mr. Edgar “Ed” Chua is the non-executive Chairman of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum, and independent Director of the Energy Development Corporation. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2016 and serves as a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.
He serves as an independent director of Metrobank and is a member of the AMLA, Audit, Related Party Transaction and Nominations Committees. He is also on the Boards of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation and Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines. He was the Country Chairman of Shell companies in the Philippines from September 2003 to October 2016. He was also the Transport Analyst in Group Planning in the UK and General Manager of Cambodia.
Mr. Arthur Gindap is the Senior Vice President of Robinsons Land Corporation and General Manager of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts. He joined the DLS-CSB Board of Trustees in 2013 and serves as a member the Campus Planning and Development Committee and Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.
He was the Regional General Manager leading Ascott Limited in the Philippines and Thailand from 2016 to 2018. He also held key senior positions in Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Mandarin Oriental, Swiss-Belhotel and The Mulia Group.
Ms. Anna Meloto-Wilk is the President and Co-founder of Gandang Kalikasan, the makers of Human Nature brand. She joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and is a member of the Retirement Board and Campus Planning and Development Committee.
She also serves as one of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Social Entrepreneurship in Asia and a member of the Chamber of Cosmetics Industries in the Philippines. She was the head the New Bureau of Award Kalinga from 2004-2005.
Mr. Maria Ressa is the co-founder and Chief Operating Executive and Executive Editor of Rappler, an online social news network. Ms. Ressa joined De La SalleCollege of Saint Benilde as a Board Member in 2017.
She is a Senior Fellow at the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in Singapore and was named the Southeast Asia Visiting Scholar at CORE Lab at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Ms. Ressa was CNN’s Bureau Chief in Manila and Jakarta. She served as ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs from 2005 to 2011. She was one of the founders of the independent production company, Probe.
